About
I am a Utah-based photographer, but have not always called the mountains home.
Born and raised in Florida, a cross-country family trip through the American Southwest sparked my love for the natural world. Rafting through the coal-black walls of West Water Canyon on the Colorado River was unlike anything I had experienced.
Years later, I packed my life into the bed of my pickup and headed to Utah where I became a river guide. My fascination with the landscapes and the processes that shaped them inspired me to pursue a degree in geology.
Working for nearly six years as a geologist at an oil company, I felt like a pacifist making bullets. I decided to leave the corporate life and travel. I packed up my life into 68 L with the goal of exploring the world and sharing it with others.
I have always been fascinated by people and how each of us are living a life entirely different from one another. I get lost in thinking about how our experiences have shaped who we are and our perspectives. The desire to understand individuals in other parts of the world was a large part of my motivation to travel.
I wanted to work with locals to experience their daily lives and exchange cultures. I did so through WorkAway — a site that pairs workers with hosts doing anything from helping in a garden to herding Icelandic sheep on horseback through the Highlands.
I have made memories I won't forget, friends from all over the world, and a cabin in the Icelandic Highlands. I hope you enjoy my website and reach out, I would love to get to know you.
